    Anger Counselling in Hereford

Support with anger that feels hard to manage, and with the feelings underneath it.

    When Anger Becomes a Problem

Anger is a normal feeling, and often an important one. It can tell us that something isn't fair or that a boundary has been crossed. It becomes a problem when it arrives faster or bigger than you want, or when it starts to damage your relationships, your work or how you feel about yourself.

For some people that looks like shouting or snapping at the people closest to them. For others it's the opposite: anger gets swallowed, and comes out as irritability, resentment, tension in the body or low mood.

    How Counselling Can Help

Anger often sits on top of other feelings, such as hurt, fear, shame or exhaustion. As your counsellor, I won't judge you for it. We can look at what tends to set it off, what it might be protecting, and where some of it may have started.

Alongside that understanding, we can work on practical ways to notice anger building and respond in a way you're happier with. The aim is to understand what is happening underneath the anger.

    How Therapy Can Help

    • Understand what triggers your anger
    • Notice the early signs before it boils over
    • Explore the feelings that sit underneath it
    • Express anger without harming relationships
    • Let go of long-held resentment
    • Feel less guilt and shame after outbursts

    Taking the First Step

Asking for help with anger can feel uncomfortable, and that's understandable. An initial call is a chance to tell me a little about what's been happening and see whether working with me feels right.

    Book an initial counselling call

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. It's a chance to share what brings you to therapy, ask any questions, and decide whether working together feels right for you.
